Ok, so it didn't go down quite like that, but I have been reading the various different headlines that have made their way around the world and that one hadn't been used yet. I can emphathize with the feeling though, once having lost my job on December 19th by a church no less. Personality conflicts claim more lives on the job front than you might realize.
But it wasn't a personality conflict that cost the Governor, and he is still the Governor at this point, unless you count the conflict that always existed between House Speaker Madigan and Blagojevich. And BTW, we haven't heard from Mr. Madigan, not even in a gloating manner. Makes me wonder if Mr. Madigan doesn't want the spotlight on himself right now. Furthermore, if it is as it seems to be that everyone and their brother knew about various schemes and conniving deals going on why wasn't Lisa Madigan out there in the hunt.
So there really isn't any more to the story other than what the Federal Prosecutor laid out today in his press conference. The news media was having a field day in speculating about what might happen. We have to wait and see what happens and then you can fill the airwaves with facts and not speculations. Which is what I am going to do. Here in Chicago...Back to you in the newsroom. Wait...the newsroom is my bedroom.

New Political Blog Launched Showcasing 2008 Presidential Candidates Web Statistics

New blog launched that tracks weekly Web statistics for the 2008 Presidential Election. Google Bombing may be dead, but the MySpace generation is changing the way the Presidential Race’s Web Wars are being waged.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 19, 2007 -- A political blog was recently launched (www.brianeaster.com) that tracks weekly Web statistics for the 2008 Presidential Election. With the dramatic rise of MySpace in the political landscape and the real power of online marketing on Google and other search engines being realized through search engine marketing, candidates are starting early and working aggressively to win the 2008 Web Election.
The political blog tracks the candidates MySpace friends on a weekly basis, as MySpace’s impact in the election 2008 cycle could be substantial. The social networking aspect of easy, instant communication with the candidates’ base of supporters is truly powerful and many of the candidates are already putting substantial efforts behind their MySpace profiles.
As of March 18, 2007, Barack Obama had more MySpace friends than all of the other major candidates combined with over 65,000 friends, while Clinton comes in second with nearly 30,000, and McCain at a distant last with just over 500. Giuliani led the Republicans with over 1,000 MySpace friends.
While some may question the relevancy of these statistics as an indicator of electoral success, the MySpace generation is changing the way the Presidential Race’s Web Wars are being waged by becoming more engaged. The social networking aspects of the candidates’ various sites, including their MySpace sites, bring their supporters closer to the campaigns including the ability to donate money, post bulletins, send emails, easily access Web banners, as well as provide information about their background and goals.
In addition to tracking MySpace friends, the candidates’ Alexa Rankings (measures the popularity of a website), Google PageRank, and the number of Google links pointing to each site are also tracked. All of the previously mentioned indicators will be updated weekly, as well as commentary and additional online resources, at http://www.brianeaster.com.
